Welcome to Affinity Institute. We provide CPR, AED, and First Aid Classes for Individuals, Businesses, Schools, and Non-Profit Organizations. Classes can be customized to meet the specific needs of the participants and the environment. We are an Approved Training Provider for the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. Classes can be scheduled on-site in Illinois; including the Greater Peoria, IL area, the Greater Chicago area, and the Southern Wisconsin area.

Classes for businesses and organizations in the Greater Chicago area.
Heartsaver CPR & AED teaches participants how to recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. CPR, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of choking are covered. Specific training on the AED model you have can be conducted upon request. Participants learn the chain of survival, how and when to activate EMS (emergency medical services), thelegal safeguards of Good Samaritan Laws, and signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke. After the course, participants willhave the knowledge, confidence, and up-to-date skills to help in a cardiac or choking emergency. 3 hour classFirst Aid teaches participants how to handle fist aid emergencies including bleeding, burns, sprains & strains, medical emergencies, behavioral emergencies and heat and cold related emergencies until advanced emergency medical services can arrive. This class can be customized for the environment. First Aid can be conducted as a 1 hour seminar (non-certification), a
basic 3 hour class, an intermediate 8 hour class, or an advanced 16 - 24 hour class. Maritime and Wilderness First Aid Classes are also available.
Pre-Emergency Response helps members of Emergency Response Teams prepare to handle an emergency before it happens. This workshop address the role of anxiety, the physical demands or responding to an emergency, and decision-making underduress. 2 hour workshopPost-Emergency Response helps responders address the immediate, or lingering, stressors in the aftermath of an emergency.Specific techniques and strategies are taught to alleviate any unwanted thoughts, feelings, or memories. This workshop can bearranged for individuals or groups of responders. Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) teaches the risks of exposure and how to reduce them. This class assists in satisfying the trainingrequirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Standard (29 CFR 1920.10.0) 1 - 2 hour classCLASSES FOR NON-PROFITS
We are able to offer special rates for 501(C)(3) non-profit organizations including schools, medical clinics, and social service organizations.
CLASSES FOR BUSINESSES
On-Site classes can be arranged for your company at your location or ours. These classes can be geared toward manufacturing, corporate,or clinical environments.

Dates are scheduled for the the two day (16 hour) Wilderness First Aid class as well as the one day (8 hour) Wilderness Recertification Class. Both classes meet the Wilderness First Aid requirement for Boy Scouts of America and the 2012 American Camp Association standards.
