American Heart Association Instructor Classes
Course Description
Participants will learn adult learner education concepts; how to present didactic material; how to demonstrate CPR skills according to American Heart Association guidelines; how to correct faulty CPR performance; how to disinfect and maintain CPR manikins; and how to fairly and accurately evaluate student performance.
While you will not learn CPR during the Instructor course, it will be reviewed. It is expected that you have good CPR skills and the ability to speak to large groups. You will gain familiarity with AHA video instruction, hands-on practice and instructor led discussions.
Upon completion of all requirements, you will be able to teach American Heart Association CPR, AED, and First Aid courses.
Prerequisites:
- Current American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare Providers card (A copy of this card must be submitted with your registration form.)
This course is $265.00 and the fee includes the in-person class; the Self-Paced CD Rom class, and the required course monitoring session(s).
We are available to provide support and resources when you start teaching on your own and look forward to working with you.
