Heart Saver CPR & AED teaches CPR, use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) and relief of choking. Specific training on the AED model you have can be conducted upon request.
Participants learn the chain of survival, how and when to activate EMS (emergency medical services), the legal safeguards of Good Samaritan Laws, and signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke.
This class covers Adult (8 Years +), Child (1-7), and Infant (under 1) procedures.
Notes: This class:
- meets DCFS requirements for adoptive and foster parents.
- is approved for 0.4 CECs for ACE Certified Trainers and Instructors.
- is eligible for 3 Continuing Education Development Units (CPDUs) for Illinois teachers.

Basic First Aid teaches participants to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until EMS personnel arrive. This course provides training on first aid, medical emergencies, injuries, and environmental emergencies. Topics covered including management of bleeding emergencies, burns, strains & sprains, and various medical emergencies including allergic reaction and seizure.
(A two year certification is issued upon sucessful completion)

Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED, a comprehensive course for the First Responder, teaches CPR, use of an AED, and relief of choking), as well as first aid emergencies including treatment of bleeding, burns, strains and sprains, and management of common medical emergencies.

Pediatric First Aid is geared toward pre-school teachers and others who work with young children. Management of illness and injuries for children is covered. Topics include first aid basics for children, medical emergencies, injuries, and environmental emergencies. This class can be conducted as a stand- alone class or along with the Heartsaver CPR & AED class.
Notes: This class:
- meets the requirements for DCFS and NAECY accreditation for child care centers.

Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) includes information that will help students understand risks of exposure and how to reduce them for themselves and others. The program assists in satisfying the training requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.10.0) (One year certification issued upon completion)
American Safety & Health Institute Courses
Emergency Oxygen Administration focuses on rescue breathing and oxygen delivery devices. Serious medical emergencies often cause oxygen to be depleted in the body; supplemental oxygen is a critical step in treating a severe or life-threatening illness or injury.
Basic Wilderness First Aid is an 8-hour course for those who are involved in wilderness recreation. This course may also meet the needs of volunteers and professionals who lead groups on short trips in relatively low-risk situations. (Three year certification issued upon completion)

Wilderness First Aid 2 is a continuation of Basic Wilderness First Aid. This course is an additional 8 hours and is geared toward those who are involved in serious wilderness activities. This course is the choice of many wilderness trip leaders and guides. Please note: this class is not the equivalent of a Wilderness First Responder or Emergency Medical Technician Training. (Three year certification issued upon completion)
Prerequisites: Completion of Basic Wilderness First Aid
First Responder is a 40 hour course geared toward Emergency Medical Response Team Members in work environments as well as security personelle and park rangers. This class focuses on immediate medical intervention for injury, medical, behavioral, and environmental emergencies for all age groups. (Three year certification issued upon completion)
Prerequisites: Current AHA BLS for Helthcare Provider CPR / AED Certification
National Safety Council Courses
Advanced First Aid is a 16 - 24 hour course that prepares participants to recognize and act in an emergency to sustain life. This program exceeds OSHA guidelines for emergency care. It is intended for work-place emergency response team members and can be customized for the environment. It is intended for first responders who are not licensed healthcare workers. Medical, Injury, and Behavioral emergencies are addressed. (Three year certification issued upon completion)
The course can be conduced in as little as two days (8 hours per day) or in shorter sessions over several weeks or months.

The AHA is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Affinity Institute Classes
Reiki Level I Certification: (Shiin Reiki) This class is very practical and intended for students wanting to use their hands for self-healing, as well as, for family/friends, pets, and plants. This class will teach you everything you need to know about "hands-on" energy healing for personal use.
Reiki Level II Certification: (Prerequisite: Reiki Level 1 at Affinity Institute) You will learn powerful "Usui Shiki" Reiki Symbols that will magnify the healing exponentially, as well as, learning distance healing. This Class is intended for students wanting to enhance their abilities, whether it be for personal use, or for use in their Practice on others.
EFT Level I: This ntroductory class is practical and intended for students wanting to use their finger tapping for self-healing, as well as, for family/friends, and pets. This class will teach you what you need to know about simple Vibrational Energy healing for personal use.
EFT Level II: You will learn more specific techniques/strategies that will magnify healing. After the class, you will feel much more confident, competent and enthused about using EFT. This Class is intended for students wanting to enhance their abilities, whether it be for personal use, or for use in their Practice on others.
